Enabling education
in older age –
for everyone

The desire to learn and experience new things is independent of age. Education in old age contributes not only to social participation but also to well-being and health. Moreover, it is becoming increasingly important in a society of long life. In this position paper, BAGSO calls for the development and implementation of a National Strategy for Education in Old Age. The aim is to create diverse educational opportunities that promote the personal development opportunities of older people beyond economically exploitable skills and abilities in all municipalities. "Education is a human right and should therefore be made possible for all people, regardless of their age", the paper states.
