Strengthening the rights of older people in times of digitalisation

The Secretariat for International Policy on Ageing of the BAGSO together with the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and the European umbrella organisation AGE Platform Europe, held an online conference on 28 and 29 September on "Strengthening the rights of older people in times of digitalisation - lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic". The event was organised as part of the German EU Council Presidency.

The aim of the high-level conference, with contributions from representatives of the European Commission, the United Nations and other national and international organisations, was to present specific recommendations for policy measures at national and EU level to improve the autonomy and participation of older people in times of digitalisation, while building on the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic.
